Toyota Repair: 93 Toyota truck, toyota 4x4 truck, vacuum leaks

Question
Hi there. Thanks for making the time to read my question. I have a 1993 Toyota 4x4 truck with a 3.0 V6. I have replaced the timing belt, full tune up and set the correct timing. The truck has absolutely no power when the timing is set at the recommended degree but I can advance it and it runs better with good throttle response but idles up and down and eventually goes dead. I reminds me of older cars that I've had where the vacuum advance stopped working. There are no trouble codes set. Any suggestions? Thanks for your time.

Answer
Hi Robbie, how was the car running before you worked on it?
If was running Ok you look back at work you did. If was the same then you start with the basics. when doing timing you have to jump wires in diagnostic connector to put it in basic mode. check fuel pressure, check spark power, check compression, check for vacuum leaks, check for restricted exhaust. Check valve timing.
