QUESTION: Put WD40 in the 5 speed shifter between the seat area of car and it started shifting. Is there supposed to be a fluid added in this area?

hey cliff.  are you talking about on the outside of the transmission?  if you are talking about spraying wd on the shifter, that shouldn't do anything.  the transmission is a sealed unit with no external things to lube....but hey, wd40 has done some wonderful things in the past....
