Toyota Repair: Camry Shifts late, accelerator cable, fluid leak

Question
I have a 1997 V6 Camry with automatic transmission, 175K.  When the engine is warm and I put to "D" its movement is harsh. Then the shift change happens at 3000RPM to 2nd and between 2nd and 3rd.  This happened recently and no "check engine" shows.
Would you please help me if you have any experience?

Answer
The first thing to do is to check the transmission fluid level with the engine at operating temperature and in park at idle. If it's low add fluid as needed and check for a possible fluid leak. If that's not the case check to see that the transmission throttle pressure cable is not binding up or is broken or came off, it's attached on the throttle body next to the accelerator cable.
