Toyota Repair: Camry condensor cooling fan, tight belt, condensor fan

Question
Yesterday, intermittantly,  i noticed my AC not blowing cold air, and I smelled that (warm ac smell)
Later i noticed my temp gage climbing past 3/4.  I panicked. I checked all the ususaly over heat things,  coolant, oil, tight belt.  to make a short story long, after a few phone calls to parts stores,  I suspected  the condensor coolinkg fan.  My question is -  what tells the fan to turn on???   When i turn on my ac, it does not always come on - sometimes I give it a boost and it will run.  But when I turn OFF the AC  it still runs with the other fan until they both turn off (at night cool enough i suppose)  or until I turn the car off.  When I restart the car,  only the one fan is on.  Sometimes when I give it a boost,  the condensor fan does not come on.    Does the condensor fan come on when the car is very hot,  or ONLY  whrn the AC is on?  (But it stays on after I turn the AC off????
I ordered the motor from autozone.  (we swapped the relays) It won't be in for two days.  It is going to be 110 degrees today!!!  Help  My name is jacki,                        Paul, my phone is 602-390-5640  call if you can today

Answer
Hi Jacki, the a/c fan is controled by high pressure switch from a/c system. and also by engine ecu as axilary help when engine hot. it is normal to run after you turn your a.c off on a hot day. Check if there is any acuumolations between your condenser and radiator. Agood wash may help.
