Toyota Repair: camry engine, toyota dealer, service campaign

Question
Hi,
I need to "desludge" my camry engine.  I have a 1998 4cyl. engine.  I know I need to take the valve cover off and drop the oil pan to get out the sludge, but I was also wondering if certain parts needed to be replaced or something.  Basically, I would like to know what the dealership wants to charge me 1800 bucks to do.  What do they replace when they do this?  Thanks so much!

Answer
You will need to talk to the toyota dealer again because toyota has issued some repair procedures for excessive sludge in their 4 cylinder and V-6 engines,Toyota is aware of this problem, there are certain criteria that must be met and if that's the case then the engine repair will be done at no charge to the customer, the dealer should know about this and should know the steps to determine if your camry will be covered under this special service campaign.
