Toyota Repair: Alarmed, Further Info Cigarette Lighter, customer service rep, cigarette lighter

Question
Hello.  Took it to a Toyotoa dealership where they reresented that they would check the fuses and check the circuitry for lighter.  Got there, they drove it for a few minutes, came back and said nothing wrong.  REFUSED to check fuses or circuitry.  Asked them to hook up to the computer to analyze, they refused.  Now, today got an electrical smell in truck.  Navagation "greys out" option buttons intermittently and repeatedly. In all different areas, sometimes sitting in my driveway.   Took to AutoZone today to hookup to their scanner.  Scanner said it could not link.  They said device was working fine earlier.  Very concerned.

Answer
That seems to be odd behaviour of the toyota dealer to refuse to try to diagnose a problem, I would try another dealership if possible or contact the service manager or customer service rep at the dealer that you went to and express your concern, if the vehicle is still under warranty they are obligated to repair the problem. The warranty period for electrical systems is 3yrs/36,000 miles.
