Toyota Repair: 01 Corolla gauges, fuse panel, dimmer switch

Question
Hi,
The gauges on my 2001 Corolla don't light up at night, even when the dimmer control is turned all the way up. The warning indicators (door ajar, seat belt, etc.) still work, however, and the gauges themselves work just fine. Is this most likely a fuse problem, and if so, where is the fuse for gauge lights located?
Thank you very much,
Dan

Answer
The same fuse is used for the gauge lights and the tail lights, first see if the tail lights are also out and if so locate the "tail" fuse in the fuse panel under the dash, replace it if necessary, if the tail lights are working the dimmer switch may be disconnected or there is a wiring problem.
