Toyota Repair: air leak, air intake hose, air leaks
Question92 Celica ST 1.6L(4A-FE)standard trans. with 158,000 miles
After a long run my car starts to jerk on its own, the more i press the gas the more it jerks, i changed the fuel filter thinking it might help, but now i think its an air leak because i can hear it near the intake manifold. could you help me figure out a solution or the problem.
AnswerThe most common cause for air leaks is the large air intake hose from the air filter to the throttle body, they can develop cracks, if this hose is not the problem check for any other hoses going to the intake chamber that may have come of or become cracked.
