My Avalon won't start, when i turn the key to start the lights radio etc. come on, but nothing else.  Recently the keys were locked in it and when i tried to get them out, the alarm system was turned on.  I have unhooked the battery and hook it back up at which time the alarm system started going off again!  Then, i had to turn the car in the start position to make the alam turn off, but it still wont start?  There is no Toyota dealer within 50 miles of where I live so i don't know what to do.

Try doing the following, whether it will work or not depends on what alarm system it has: disconnect the negative battery terminal, open the driver's door and put the key to the "ON" position, reconnect the battery, if the alarm does not go off you should be able to start it, if not look for a small LED on the bottom of the dash, push the button on the back and hold it, turn the key on, if you can get the led to stay on and not flash then the car should start
