Toyota Repair: Highlander Power steerling leak, power steering fluid leak, high pressure hose

Question
I had a leak on my highlander and it was the connection between the low pressure and high pressure hose. The part was replaced and two days later I noticed that my power steering bottle has 1/2.  I brought the car back for a recheck.. . and was told positively that there was not leak. The mechanic assured me that he had filled the bottle up after fixing the leak and did not know were the fluid went.  He mark the bottle with a black line and told me to watch it.  I day later (Friday) it was 1/4 below the line. So, am I paranoid? -- or is there a leak.  There is nothing showing on the paper I put under it for leak check. I heard that there could be a leak in the power steering box (this is a sealed) box.  Another factor in this is that my super platinum warranty is up on 6/12.  Today is 6/9, Saturday. Do you have any advice as to where the leak might be if there is one.

Thanks,
Terry
PS - love the spell checker!

Answer
Do understand that there is a mark for cold and hot on the fluid stick. After driving a lot air or the molecular compound of the hydraulic fluid expands. This will make the fluid look fuller than when you check it in the morning after the fluid has settled all nite. If you are still insistent on the leak, take the truck back to your mechanic and note the fluid level and temperature of the truck. On Tuesday check it again at the same temperature and if it is lower, insist on a check. A power steering fluid leak is hard to miss. It gets everywhere, so if you do have one the paper under you truck should be wet somewhere.
