Toyota Repair: jerking transmission, toyota solara, accelerator cable

Question
I have a 2000 toyota solara, v6 116,000 miles, the transmission engages hard when car first starts, after driving it seems ok, until you shut it off again and drive, also the srs light had  come on 2 times would this have anything to do with the transmission? I have the transmission serviced every other year. Please advise. Thanks Bernice

Answer
There may be a problem with the transmission throttle pressure cable, it comes up from the transmission and connects to the throttle body near the accelerator cable, if not adjusted correctly it can cause hard shifts. You can have the dealer check the adjustment or provide an email adress and I'll get some information to you on how to check the adjustment, also make sure that it has the correct transmission fluid, it uses Dexron type III fluid.
