Toyota Repair: 1987 Supra Choking!, air flow meter, air intake system

Question
Hello, I have a manual 1987 supra turbo that keeps choking. It'll turn on no problem but when I put it in any gear and drive up to 3,000 RPMS it will choke. I can never go past 3,000 rpms. Can you tell me whats is wrong with my car? thank you

Answer
Could be a restriction in either the intake or exhaust system, make sure the turbo is working and not stuck, check the air intake system for any restrictions, check the air flow meter to see if it can open all the way, it could also be a restricted exhaust, possibly a catalityc converter that is coming apart, has anything been done recently to try to correct this?
