How do I replace the speedometer cable on a 1989 4x4 Tacoma ?

Toyota did not make the Tacoma in 1989, I only have information dating back to 1990 trucks which used a speed sensor not a cable, check to see if there is a speedo cable coming off the transfer case, if not then there a speed sensor, it will be located on the tailshft housing or the transfer case and have an electrical connector on it.
