Toyota Repair: toyota paseo question, clutch master cylinder, toyota paseo

Question
I own a 94 toyota paseo with 130,000 miles on the car but about 60,000 on the newer engine. The guy replaced the clutch too when he did it but I'm not sure how much of a professional he is. I was at a 4-way stop yesterday and was inching forward and when I let my clutch out to start going my car jolted really hard forward and shut off. I put it in neutral and the car started but would not go into any gears while it was on. Once I shut it off it shifted fine. Same thing happened again when my dad tried, only he forced it into reverse and it jolted really hard and shut off. The car starts fine if it's in neutral but if you have it in first the car start extremely sluggish and is impossible to drive. Any answers??? Thanks so much

Answer
It sounds to me that there is a hydraulic fluid leak in the clutch system, either the clutch master cylinder or the slave cylinder or possibly both are leaking causing the clutch to not release, my recommendation would be to have the clutch hydraulic cylinders replaced.
