Toyota Repair: 94 Camry V6- Oil in ECU E10, camry v6, zero volts

Question
Hi Ted,
I had a check engine light with P500 and P720. I had written to you and you suggested changing the speed sensor.I changed it and the light did not go off (which you had explained might happen). The old speed sensor had pushed oil though the wire harness all the way into the speed sensor. So today, I went to midas to check the ECU and they said that the ECU needs to be replaced. He checked the voltage between SP1 (V-Y) and E1(BR) [read out 11 volts] and SP1 (V-Y) and ground [Zero volts]. He suggested changing the ECU. He also said that the oil in the wire and the connector that goes into the ECU (E10) will have to be changed or cleaned. There are two questions I have,
1. Are there any cleaners that I can use for cleaning oil from connectors?
2. Are the wires soldered in the connectors, or can I pull them out? (I was thinking about somehow taking the insulation off of the wire than comes in from the speed sensor and put in an extra loop of wiring to stop the oil from going in further).
3. Is it possible that the tests that were done suggest there is a problem with the wire harness and not the ECU?
4. Do you have any ideas?!

Answer
I have never seen oil go all the way from the speed sensor through the wires into the ecu, it doesn't seem possible but if that is the case the terminals can be cleaned with a spay electronic parts cleaner available at all computer type stores, I don't know if the voltage readings were done with the connector on or off, with the connector off there should be no continuity between terminal SP1 and either E1 or to body ground, with the connector on if there is voltage between SP1 and E1(which is computer ground) there should be the same reading between SP1 and body ground.  I would try to clean the connectors and see if the problem goes away.
