Question
I interested in understanding how to replace the Front struts in a 98 Corolla.   My son owns the car and is in high school doesen't hav a lot of money so we are going to do this job ourselves.
thanks Dave

Answer
The struts can be removed in the following manner: Remove the front wheels, with the car off the ground remove the two large nuts and bolts that connect the strut to the spindle then remove the three 14mm nuts that connect the strut to the top of the inner fender, the strut assembly can then be removed, to replace the strut a spring compressor is needed, I would recommend taking the new struts and the old ones to either an auto parts store or an independent repair shop that has the spring compressor and have them put the springs on to the new struts, it's cheaper than to buy a compressor that you will probably only use only once.
