Hi Tim,

The original Toyota Igniter (Denso brand) costs $610 whereas the aftermarket Igniter (Standard brand) costs only $295. Would appreciate for your advise how the performance and reliability of an aftermarket Igniter compare with the original one.

I will be honest with you here. I have never seen a Toyota ignitor go bad. That doesn't mean that yours didn't go bad, but I have no experience in using the after market one. I would check with a few junk yards first and find a used Toyota distributor with everything in it.
