I have a hand brake and the light stays on

Hi Richard, In almost every car there is a small switch with the hand brake. when you pull he brake. The switch turns on the light in the instrument panel. And the you release  the lever the switch goes off. Its just  like a push button. you can find it close to the lever after removing rubber cover. Check that switch. It might be defective or need adjustment. In some new cars when the brake fluid leverl is low, in that case  the  light also goes on.
