-----Question-----
I have a 94 4runner sr5 the transmission seems to be having trouble shifting into overdrive at 55 to 65 mph. There also seems to be a clicking sound when stopping. The sound starts at about 5 miles an hour down to when I stop and lasts until I press on the gas pedal to start moving. I have about 160,000 miles on my car, and the sound just started along with the shifting issue recently. Are the two related, and  if not what might be the problem. Thankyou

Kory,

I need to know is this a manual transmission or an automatic? SR5 is actually a gage and interior package not related to the transmission.

Answer
Kory,

This is a hard one to diagnose without being able to hear and drive the vehicle.  If I had to guess, I would say yes the two are related and it might be a bad speed sensor on the rear of the transmission.

Seek a good ASE certified auto technician. You can also look online BBB.org for better business complaints against the company.
