Toyota Repair: toyota paseo no fire, toyota paseo, high tension

We washed the engine on a 92 paseo, started up and ran rough, died 10 secs. later. no fire. timing belt good. inside of distibutor was dry. Help Please.

let the ignition coil. High tension leads and any water around the spark plugs to completely dry. There is not water even vapours in the distributor cup as you mentioned.  vapours inside the distributor cup make alot difference. And check the spark removing one of the high tension leads. but becareful with the high voltage. If the spark is there. your ignition system is ok. Then check the intake manifold if any water vapours gone inside.
