Toyota Repair: Toyota Corolla Ignition Problem:, toyota corolla, engine fires

Question
Hi farid. I've got a 1998 1300cc Corolla SE, and have a recurring problem every time I turn the ignition key. The speedo and rev counter flick to the equivalent of 2 o'clock** on each instrument for about a second, and then the engine fires up. The electronic clock resets to zero each time and the radio system stops working. The interior light doesn't seem to work either, after replacing the bulb. This** problem was intermittent at one time, but now is happening every time I start the car. I've checked the fuses inside the driver's side door - nothing seems to be obviously wrong. Any ideas as to what the problem is?
Thanks and regards,
Steve Roberts.

Answer
Hi Steve, I waited for your mail. Just  to give you some more details on of such problems. The main thing is the Negative terminal of the battery connected to the engine, body and insctrument panel. If there is any rust or corrosion of the terminals attached to the body and Panel board. We often see such problmes. So u better the Negative terminls attched to the body, instrument panel as well as engine. Rgds,
farid
