Toyota Repair: 86 celica gts clutch, celica gts, clutch pressure plate

Question
borrowing a friends gts. The clutch goes to the floor and won't always let me engage/disengage gears. Sometimes it works. what is the issue and is it an easy fix or should I just give the car back and fix my 84 supra(gts goes better in snow)

Answer
Check the fluid in the master cylinder, check that there are no leaks, check the master cylinder is opreating correctly. If you ahve too, try bleeding the system of fluid to get rid of any trapped air pockets.

The clutch could be shot you know. In that case, replace the clutch & pressure plate, have the flywheel checked/machined back to true & if you're a real pal. Install a light-weight racing flywheel. It'll make hilltop starts abit harder to control, but it'll really let the engine rev alot faster. :)
