Toyota Repair: code 71, denso spark plug, spark plug wires

Hi, I have 1994 California Emissions Corolla 1.8L, Automatic Trans and have the code 71 on it, other thing that is doing is when you step on the gas, is feels like a little miss firing, hesitation, the cars runs fine and have power, i check and tells me that it could be a few thing with the EGR system, what do you recommends to check or change on it? thanks for all your help.... Check the EGR temp sensor, and it's wiring.
Clean the EGR valve, idle valve & throttlebody by hand.
If it still fails, replace the EGR valve, and tune-up the engine. (NGK or Denso plugs ONLY, ONLY NGK or Denso spark plug wires. Change the distributor cap & rotor.)
