Toyota Repair: setting the timing, cam sprockets, btdc

How do you set the timing on a 98 4-Runner. It is a 6 cylinder automatic. Any information you can provide will be greatly appreciated.

You can't set the ignition timing.

The cam timing. You set the crankshaft to 0*btdc of the intake stroke. Then you align the markings on the cam sprockets to the markings on the timing belt cover.
(Or if the valve covers are off. The camshaft itnermesh gears have alignment dots that should be together when they are aligned correctly.)
