Toyota Repair: how to remove a camshaft pulley bolts, camry v6, aluminum head

Question
Hi.  I am trying to remove the two camshaft pulley bolts on a 1994 camry v6 1MZ-FE engine, but every time I turn the bolts the camshaft pulley also turn.  I want to know how to remove the bolts please help.

Answer
You bind the camshaft in position using a special service Toyota/Lexus tool.
The only other way is to remove the valve covers. The camshafts have a section on them that are machined into a hex shape. You fit a wrench on the hex shape, slowly & gently bind the wrench against the aluminum head.
The camshaft will be locked, and you can crack the nut loose. Do the same for the other before removing the sprocket to keep the cam timing in place.

Make sure the alignment is the same. Set the crackshaft to read 0*btdc on the plastic gauge where the drive belts are no the crankshaft.
You'll notice on the intermesh gears of the camshaft that there ar alignment dots. The dots align when the timing is correct. (I.E. They "touch" each other when viewed from the driver's side of the car.)
