Toyota Repair: RE:Lack of power and pickup, toyota corolla ae101, denso spark plugs

Dear mechanic

I had just bought a second hand toyota corolla ae101 1.6 EFI 1994 manual.The car is perfoming just well.But there are certain problems minor problems.
1.the car has a low pick up and the over power of the car is very poor.This car is not modifiy.Is there any problem in the engine or should change the valve and fuel injection etc.

I would start by giving the engine a full tune-up.
NGK, or Denso spark plugs ONLY. DO NOT use cheap autopart chain store wires (Bosch, Autolite, etc) on a Toyota ignition. All your normal tune-up items.
Things not included in the masses idea of a tune-up, but should be done would include.
Checking the base timing.
Cleaning the intake manifold, throttlebody, idle valve & EGR valve of carbon deposits.
Using something like water injection, or Seafoam (Please follow the directions of any such product.) to clean the combustion chambers of carbon deposites.
