Motorcycle Repair: electrical parts, honda shop, honda parts

this is my problem, i recently got a honda 1983 nighthawk cb550 and have been having some problems with the battery/ alternator. i had the battery charged and was able to ride for two days. today it died on me. when i called the dealership and asked if they had any alternators i was told that honda dosent make that spacific part any more. my question is- is it possable to substitute the part? and where could i go to look for after market parts?

Hi Paul,

Some parts interchange with another model. I'm not sure if the CB750SC will work with your CB550SC. Honda parts guys should know. Try calling more than one Honda shop.
