Question
My toyota 22RE 4x4 5 speed 200,000 mile truck is blowing the 15 amp engine fuse. The truck had been sitting for a month and i gunked the motor while getting the truck ready for sale.  The truck started fine and i drove it about 10 miles down the road about a week later and that's when the fuse blew. I had never had any problems with this truck until now.  The truck will run and drive but the gauges and turn signals will not work after the fuse blows.  I unhooked the alternator and put a fuse in and it still blows as soon as you turn the key on. Is the engine fuse in this truck function the same as the newer 89 to 95 trucks?  The engine fuse in those models say that the fuse is linked to the charging system and the cruise control. What does the 88 model engine fuse link to?  I am at a loss as where to look after checking so many things. Thank you

Answer
You obviously have a short somewhere. You have a hands on type of problem.I cant really tell you where the short is, Id have to trace it myself.

You can get wire diagrams at www.techinfo.toyota.com.
You can use up to a 95 truck diagram for a 22RE.

Try using a blow jet if you have compressed air and try to blow it dry.
