Toyota Repair: Camry 88 Problem Starting, toyota camry, cold start

Question
I have a 88 Toyota Camry, 2.0 L Automatic, 245.000 miles. When I try starting in the morning I have to give it a key for 15-20 seconds, everything sounds good at the engine but is like no gas is coming through it doesn't wanna fire-up and after that I'll have to give it a second key and it finaly starts.
I have changed the spark plugs, this helped quite a bit on the second key, it starts much faster but still I have to give it that first key without any success.

If I hold the key for about 40 seconds the car will start eventually on that first key.
After that if the car isn't stopped for more then 3-4 hrs it start's just fine. While is running the engine sounds good and runs smooth.

What should I do?

Answer
I would suspect you have a bad cold start injector time switch.
Its temp sensitive and fires the 5th injector in the intake.
You can unbolt the cold start injector and pull it out, leaving the fuel line connected. crank briefly and see if it sprays fuel.
If not, replace the time switch. Its in the coolant passage at the back of the head.
Check the new one you get and youll be able to locate it.
