Toyota Repair: SRS Airbag light, reliability problem, metal pins

Question
My 1998 Corolla airbag light stays on. The dealer gave me an estimate for $500 to fix it. The estimate lists a part description as TOOL CAC, and the part number as RED. Cost for part is $4.99, so I assume there must be a lot of labor involved. I searched the internet and found two sites that said the 98 Corolla has a known reliability problem with the airbag light staying on and both sites said that it is a loose connector problem and should cost $90.00 to fix. Can you provide any info? Thank you.

Answer
There have been "some" cases where the air bag wire harness connector under the front seat is either disconnected or can be reshaped to make better contact, the metal pins inside the connector can be bent a little to make contact with the other connector, this may or may not be the case, I don't know because in order to really help I would need the DTC that was retreived from the system.
