Toyota Repair: transmission problem, toyota corolla dx, cv joints

Question
Hello Ted,I have a 1994 toyota corolla dx with a 7a-fe 1.8 liter engine & 4 speed automatic transmission. The car has a vibration starting at 35mph (barely noticable)then gets worse with speed about up to 65 mph then starts to go away at higher speeds.I also noticed on turns to the right & accelerating front of whole car shakes.I first was thinking of a halfshaft (cv joint)problem.I jacked the car up,started & put in drive observing calipers to see if they where walking back & forth due to rotor or hub problem they are ok.I turned the steering wheel to the right completely & the right tire stopped turning I looked under the car and the inner cv joint was going up & down & the shaft was not turning at this point I shut off the car grabbed the right
inboard cv joint it has lots of movement in all directions.checked the left side and it is the same way, niether halfshaft seal is leaking as of yet.So after all this, my question is have you seen differential bearing failures in these transmissions & if this is common? Or do you think I am going in the wrong direction with this? When I first got this car 104k miles transmission would not shift out of first gear cold.So I changed the transmission fluid.when draining fluid there was very fine metel particles in it.Changing the fluid fixed the shifting problem so never thought anything else about it till now.The car now has 108k miles on it.Just replaced all tires because they were all cupped & replaced both front rotors due to pulsation. Now that I dont hear the tires & eliminated some vibration I canhear & feel this vibration.Thank you for your time & input.Brad Fairchild.

Answer
I have seen differential side bearings fail but it's not common, it sounds more like the axle inner CV joints are worn and are the cause, if the bearings were the cause to this extend the seals would be leaking.
Since the right side CV joint has the most movement I would recommend replacing the right side axle shaft and see if there is an improvement.
