Hi Ted. Thank you for your help and comments excellent. Here goes having problems when i press clutch pedal to shift noise begins and when i release clutch no noise.. my car is toyota tercel 1998 145,000 klm. also i am taking it in to a garage this week would like yur advice what else should i change while i'm at it.noise persist when changing to any gear ..just when i press clutch , as soon as i release clutch or even when i put i n neutral no noise..also in finishing i nfound it weird when i arrived home ,travelled 25klm. no noise even when i stop engine and restart..i no for sure when engine cole as asoon as i start noise appears when i press clutch ..thank you take care..

It sounds like it may be the clutch release bearing that's causing the noise, pressure is applied to it to depress the clutch plate springs when the pedal is depressed, when the pedal is released the bearing does nothing, the transmission has to be removed to get the bearing out and at the same time it may be a good idea to replace the clutch assembly also.
