Toyota Repair: Toyota Camry 92 wont start, fuel pressure gauge, toyota camry

Question
Hi Ted! My 92 Toyota Camry LE 4 cylinder just suddendly stopped working while I was driving on the road. First, it slowed down and suddenly it comes to a sudden stop.  I tried to start again, it started but it dies slowly and eventually I tried to start again , it won't start.   I have it towed home and did a spark check.  I am not sure how to check it but I pulled number 1 engine sparkplug wire and use a screwdriver extended to the engine chasis and I started the engine and I could see sparks coming out from the screwdriver.  I am not sure is that mean the coil is still good or bad. Is there anyway to  check if the coil is good or bad. I assume the coil is inside of the distributor.  I heard that you mentioned about igniter assembly, is there a way to check it, Ted.  I also would like to know if the timing belt is broke and I don't know how to check it.  But I did openned the distributor cap and inspected the cap, rotor and it seemed to be fine.  I am not sure this is the right way to check to see if the timing belt is broke since my car has 120k miles on it.  I left the distributor cap open with the rotor in and started the engine, I can see the rotor is rotating 360 degree.   I assume the timing belt is still good.  To make it short, I have done the spark check, inspected rotor cap, rotor and it won't start.  Should I check the fuel system? If so would you please let me know how?  I appreciate your help.

Answer
There is a possibility that the timing jumped on the gears because of wear, this will still provide spark and the rotor will turn but the timing between the crankshaft and the camshaft may now be off.
The other possibility may be that there is a loss of fuel pressure, this has to be checked by connecting a fuel pressure gauge and checking the fuel pressure while cranking the engine.
