Toyota Repair: cabin air filter replacement, phillips screw, cabin air filter

Question
Hi ted,, just got back from repair place and they were going to charge me an additional 90 dollars to replace this 14 dollar item,,, can i do this myself and if so,, can you tell me how? thanks,, i have a 2005 Corolla.

Answer
$90.00 seems a little high but anyway here goes:
Open the glove compartment
On the right side there is a damper, it looks like a small shock absorber, remove the phillips screw from it
Squeeze the sides of the glove box to let it go past the retaining tabs and drop all the way down
Behind the glove box is a long rectangular cover with two release tabs, push the tabs to release the cover and pull it out
The cabin air filter is in there
reassemble everything.
