Toyota Repair: 2002 mr2 idle, cold air intake, air pipe

Question
Mike,
I'm looking at buying a 2002 mr2 with 38000 miles.
The owner has put a cold air intake on it.
It idles around 1000-1100 when you start it and after it warms up.When you turn the A/C on the idle stays the same.
What should the idle be? And do you think that the high idle could be hidding other problems?
Thanks
Tim

Answer
Thats about right.
Will idle just under 1K when warmed up.
The AC idle up should be controlled by the ecu so I dont believe you can ajust that.

Put an aftermarket CAT-back exhaust on it. That, and the cold air pipe will let it breath better and she'll really move out.
