Toyota Repair: 1989 4runner 3.0 V6 starting and battery drain problem., battery connections, starter relay

Question
I am having intermittent starting problems. Hear relay click but will not turn starter over. Starter has been replaced. Think it may be related to starter relay or bad connections to it. Where is the relay located.

The circut connected though the efi relay is staying energized and running the battery down. Any suggestions?

Answer
If you just hear one click its usually the starter.
sometimes bad battery connections.
You can get a starter terminal rebuild kit at the dealer.
There tabs that wear out in the starter.Easy to do. just look at new parts.
If you bought a rebuilt they may still have the old terminals in it.Seen that many times

you can get wiring diagrams at www.techinfo.toyota.com
