Toyota Repair: Resetting a Corolla dash cluster, speedometer repair, gas gauge

Question
Hello,
My daughter's 1993 Corolla was having a transmission problem that I traced to the dash cluster.
I found a used cluster out of a 1995 Corolla that works fine except for the gas gage.  It just isn't going down as it should.  When I first installed the cluster it reacted to the amount of gas in the car just fine (went to a full tank).  But now that I've driven this car for over 90 miles the gas gage reads at 1/8 under full, which is not low enough.
Is there some way to reset the cluster so that it reads the gas tank contents properly?
Also, is there a way to have the mileage read the same as the old cluster's mileage?
Thanks,
John

Answer
The gas gauge may not be compatible with the sending unit, there is no reset procedure, the only way to make the mileage readings the same as on the old cluster( which by the way is required by law in most states) is to take the cluster to an authorized speedometer repair shop.
