Toyota Repair: 1988 Toyota brake problem, toyota pick up truck, wheel cylinders

Question
I had all the parts replaced because AAMCO told me to. I will check for leaks in the vaccuum lines but would hte problem be constant? How do I "Smoke test" the booster?

Question -
I have a 1988 Toyota Pick up truck. I have had new Master cylinder, wheel cylinders, hoses, calipers, pads and shoes and compensating valve. Sometimes the brake pedal goes down to the floor but after driving fo a while it comes back up and works perfectly. No one seems to be able to figure out the problem. By the time I get it to the repair shop the brakes are fine. Someone did suggest that if the brakes were not bled with the truck sitting on the ground or a flat bed lift, the compensating valve may be affected. It is a weird and frustrating problem. Any ideas? Thank you. Mike.

Answer -
You can rule out air in the system.
Air should give a consistant problem, not come and go.

Why did you change all the parts?

It may not be hydrolic at all,you could have a booster problem.Check for leak in hoses etc. Smoke test the booster.

Answer
It may not be constant if the hose has a crack. depends on the position of the hose. May open when the engine torques or even if you hit a bump.
You would need some one with a smoke machine to blow smoke into the booster hose and check for leaks.
