Toyota Repair: 89 Camry driver door wont open from inside or outside, door latch assembly, toyota camry

The driver side door on my 89 Toyota Camry is stuck in the locked position.  I am unable to pull up on the lock manually, the power unlock does not work and the inside and outside door handles have no tension.  The rest of the doors work just fine.  Any ideas?  I have never had this problem before.  Thanks!

Remove the door panel to see if any of the control links from the handles have come off, the problem could be the door latch assembly which needs to be replaced, it is a little difficult to get the door panel off with the door closed but it can be done by removing as many of the trim pieces that surround the door, once the door panel is off the door lock can be opened by prying on the release lever on the inside, this is a little tricky even if you have done this before
