QUESTION: 1995 Cadillac SLS dash instruments go wild, the car stalls and resets the air conditioning to 75 while driving.

QUESTION: I have analog gauges and they jump from where ever they are all the way to the right and back again if the car doesn't die.
ANSWER: Sounds like a ground problem.

What any type of work has been performed on the vehicle within the past 6 months anywhere on the vehicle ?.

QUESTION: well, nothing really besides some air conditioning work but I did replace the battery on the car.

check the black instrument ground wire that is located behind the kick panel which is located behind the panel if you move your left foot all the way to the left. also just below the above said ground wire you will see a plastic panel that has wires going into it from 3 directions. remove this plastic panel and you will see another BLACK ground wire. make sure BOTH are TIGHT.

Also check every black ground wire that is attached to the fenders or any metal components around the battery for being clean and tight.

You may want to consider replacing the NEGATIVE battery cable as the short black wire may be corroded internally of which you cannot see.
