Toyota Repair: valve adjustment mr2 twincam, twin cams, valve adjustment

My friends mechanic suggested the valves be adjusted on her 87 mr2. How can I check and adjust them ? Do I need special tools ?
(I've adjusted non twin cams in the past).

why adjust them? Is there a problem?
If there loose they will make noise. If there tight then youll have a rough idle.
No noise, no rough idle, leave them alone.
They are a shim and bucket. You would need special service tool a micrometer and a set of shims to do the job.
