Toyota Repair: Removal of cell phone that fell into A/C vent, flexible steel cable, dashboard panel

Question
Hi I don't know computer lingo, so... I have a 1987 Toyota Corolla 4 door coupe. One A/C vent's(right one in middle of dash)air adjust broke out. My son put his cell phone on the dash & it fell into the hole. I need to know HOW to get the dashboard panel off to get access to the phone. I've removed just about every screw from the glove compartment to the driver's side & can't get access to the vent. I removed the vent covers, the A/C cover, radio cover & partially removed the ashtray/storage cover below that. Do I need to remove the A/C unit & radio/cassette player? HOW? I truly appreciate any help you can give, I'm afraid I'll disable something critical with all the fuses, etc.

Answer
A dash pad is a job for a rainy day!
Not a great job for a Novice.
Lots of stuff to take apart.
Youll need a repair manual.
The radio does have to come out. the glove box, the instrument cover, etc.
May be easier to get a "grab tool" from ann auto parts store and pull it up the way it went in.
The tool looks like a piece of flexible steel cable with a syringe on the handle end, when you push it fingers open at the other end, then grab when you relaese.
