Toyota Repair: engine bogs, check air filter, voltage rise

Question
2000 mr2: engine starts fine, idles fine, but as soon as you try to excelerate the engin bogs but i dont hear a misfire or back fire. pulled MAF and blew into it and saw voltage rise. tried running car and disconnected and reconnected MAF to here rpm change and it did. next tried to unplug coil packs one at a time to see if rpm dropped , each time it killed the engine. check air filter to see if plugged it actually was so i changed it. still no improvement. had a code come up but whent away before i could borrrow ODB. did a compression check 190/200 on all four. what next engine boggs so bad 20mph is max. if you go full throttle engine buck badly.
ready to send car to the dealer.

Answer
Possibly a catalytic converter problem, the reason I suspect this right away is that I have seen this a couple of times already on MR2s, the converter may be disintegrating and clogging itself and the muffler, I would recommend taking it to the dealer and have them check for this, if you live in the US the converter is covered under the federal emission control warranty for 8yrs/80,000 miles.
