Toyota Repair: 1998 Toyota Tacoma ABS Problems, 4wd auto, fuse panel

Question
The ABS light in on in my 1998 Tacoma. The Toyota dealership pulled the following codes:

32 - Left Front Speed Sensor
44 - Decel Sensor

Sometimes the ABS ligth goes out, but it usually comes back on quickly. Occasionally when I brake, there is a strange noise (I think this is the ABS Actuator kicking in) and the brake pdeal vibrates a lot and I can't brake for a few seconds. This goes away quickly but will happen at random times.

I know of 6 other people with 98 and 99 Tacoma's that have the EXACT same problems, and are getting the same codes. We have all cleaned the sensors but that does not help. A few people have replaced the Speed Sensor, but that does not solve the problem either.

The Decel sensor costs $500+ and most of us do not have the cash to replace it. Some of us are thinking of just deativating the ABS altogether so the actuator does not kick in and mess up our braking.

Have you heard of this problem before? Do you know of any solutions? Has anyone fixed it by replacing the Decel sensor?

Thanks.

PS - Details of my truck if you need it: 1998 V6 TRD Tacoma 4WD Auto Tranny, ADD Hubs, ABS. No anti-slip system or traction control.

Answer
No, I have not heard of this here in southern california, I have not seen these codes before so I can only suggest to replace the decel sensor since replacing the speed sensor does not fix the problem.
I have checked for any bulletins that may apply and there are none.
The ABS can be deactivated by removing the ABS fuse in the fuse panel but the abs warning light will stay on.
