Toyota Repair: 3 bug s with corolla, compressor failure, o2 sensor

Question
I have a corolla 2000 auto 100K.  everything is fine, no warning light, but do have  three bugs with this car..

1-   the gas coming from exhaust smells, it is not black and inside the exhaust is relatively clean. But it smells (it is not sulfur!) just like unburned or low oxygen burn, carbon monoxide.  Not sure if it is because of oxygen sensor or what!

2-   the second bug is in air conditioning System. It is charged, I can see full liquid from the glass at the top of dehydrator, but the air is not cold at when car is at IDLE ,       it is only cold at higher speeds, as I slow down to idle speed,  it is not cold any more (in summer).  What could be the source of the problems. could it be the wrong refrigerant! or ?

3. when car is cold  (freezing pint) the  car make a clicking noise that is gone when car is warm, is that injector or valve or ? as you rev up the clicking goes up.

Many thanks

Answer
A amlfunctioning o2 sensor would turn the check engine light on so I don't think this is the case, check for an exhaust leak at the exhaust manifold, it could also be caused by an oil leak dripping on the exhaust pipe.
The A/C system needs to be diagnosed by connecting line pressure gauges to the system to see if the pressures are correct, that's the first step when diagnosing an a/c problem. There are many possible causes for this including a freon leak in the system, a compressor failure or some sort of restriction in the system, you really need to have someone that knows a/c systems check this.
Not sure about the clicking noise, injector noise is almost inaudible so I do not think that is the problem, there have been some issues with the drive belt and the tensioner which may cause a ticking or rattle noise but there have been no issues with valve clearances and they normally do not cause any ticking noise.
