Toyota Repair: Infos about translate ECU, power doors, vsc

Question
Hi,
I am interested in know what exactly the "translate ECU" is. I already know that it is installed in models like Sienna and Sequoia and located near to the brake pedal and connected to the VSC ECU, isn't?
Do you have more information about its function or specifications of the "translate ECU"?
I'm not an expert, and I don't know if it is also related to the "transmission ECU".
Thanks you very much.
Rafael

Answer
The translate ecu is responsible for enabling some of the computers on the vehicle to be able to communicate with one another, each computer on the vehicle can be "speaking in a different language" and the translate ecu lets the computers communicate and exchange information.
As far as I know the translate ECU is not involved with the engine/transmission ECU, the translate ecu is more involved with the functions of the VSC/TRAC control and any functions related to the body such as wireless entry systems/immobilizer system, sliding power doors/ power windows/ sunroof/ etc.
