Toyota Repair: 2002 sequoia side mirror, mirror glass, side mirror

I am stationed overseas in a US military community in a country which doesn't market the sequoia (Germany) so have no dealer support. I cracked the drivers sideview 2 weeks ago, and called a stateside dealer and had the glass shipped to me. I don't know the proper method for replacing it, and don't want to break it worse. Of course the local german toyota dealer didn't have a clue. (Or didn't want to be bothered).  The positioning still works, all I need to replace is the glass insert.

Pry the broken glass out of the mirror housing, the new glass just pushes on to the receptacles in the mirror housing, I believe there are three plastic lugs in the mirror housing and three receptacles on the glass, it should just pop on, I checked the repair manual and it's not much help but I remember replacing the mirror glass not to long ago.
