Toyota Repair: 95 toyota corolla pulling to left (150000 miles), toyota corolla, toyota dealer

Question
I just noticed my daughter's 95 corolla with 150,000 miles seemed to have a distinct pull to the left. I took it in for an alignment and the shop said that the alignment was fine.  They stated that there is a problem that occurs with the toyota transmission that causes the car to pull to the left and is most noticeable at highway speeds. They stated that they do not repair transmissions, so they could not make the repairs. Is this accurate and could you better explain the problem?

Answer
I have never heard of this, I would advise that the car be checked at another alignment facility or the toyota dealer, the most common causes for pulling to one side are the tires, has a tire rotation been tried, or try switching the tires from left front to right front and vice versa, then see if the car goes the other way. Make sure the tires are in good shape. If that doesn't solve the problem there is something out of adjustment.
