Toyota Repair: 2001 toyota echo, toyota echo, warm weather

Question
when it is cold my echo dont want to start,it acts as if the choke is not working, you have to pump the gas and crank the engin after a few times it will start but runs ruff until the engin warms up could you tell me what problem could be and how to check it no problem in warm weather

Answer
The fuel injected engine starts normally when cold and goes to fast idle without touching the gas pedal so the first thing I suggest is that you start it with your foot off the throttle pedal and see what happens, it should go to fast idle(about 1800rpm) if it does not and stalls there is another problem so let me know if that is the case.
I will need to know exacrly what happens after the engine starts in order for me to help so please be specific.
