I have a 98 tacoma prerunner just over 100 thousand miles.  my vehicle starting jerking between 40-55mph. It did it for a couple weeks and just kept getting more frequent until one morning when I went to start it, it wouldnt start. They were not hard jerks rather soft but noticable. I was told I needed a new fuel filter. I changed it but not fixin the problem. No ck engine light ever came on. IT will turn over just not completely. the mechanic said test pointed to an ignition module but that didn't fix it either. Hes ran test and checked everything Its getting spark but not enough to start the engine Hes checked coil voltage they are good, replaced spark plugs too. Hope you can help me Im going on 3wks without my toy. thanks sunny

The only thing that puts up a red flag in your question is " it will turn over just not completely",do you mean the engine will turn over and then stop without starting or will turn over but not fire up or not turn over at all?
I'm a little confused about what that statement means, please try to clarify.
Is this a V-6 or 4cylinder engine?
Question-
The engine is a v6 automatic. It will turn over but will not fire up. We have changed the crank sensor as well and that still didn't fix the problem I am wondering if it might be the ECU since it was jerking before it quit running . ITs getting fuel where it needs to go. timing belt is good . the computer isnt showing anything either. please help
thanks sunny

Answer
Computers very seldom cause a problem, since there is no check engine light on all of the input signals from the input sensors to the computer must be good, the computer is not seeing a problem so  this is caused by something that the computer doesn't monitor.
Check the following:
Standing in front with hood open on the left side of the engine(your right)near the DLC connector is a ground bus connection on the intake chamber, it's a 10mm size bolt that has a ground connection with a bunch of brown wires, make sure it is tight.
